At work, there might come a point when you’re beginning to feel a little fatigued and unable to complete even the simplest task. While this might seem natural, it will almost certainly harm your productivity levels, thus making the coming days in the office a little harder as there’s more left to do than you may have previously anticipated.
To try and increase your productivity, it doesn’t require a series of radical changes. The following tips are actually quite easy to follow and could help to boost your output; possibly your future employment prospects too!
Get plenty of sleep
With deadlines looming and plenty to do each night, it’s harder than it seems to get 40 winks, but getting to bed early can work wonders for your energy levels early in the morning. Ideally, a minimum of eight hours per night should be enough, but if you can grab an extra hour or two, then all the better for you!
Sit in an ergonomic chair
Good posture can help to minimise the risk of tiredness and pain during a busy day. It can also help you to feel more comfortable too, thereby helping you to feel better about the task in front of you. Chair Office created the video below to show how an ergonomic office chair works; they can help to make you feel more at ease and ensure that over time, any problems you might have had will go away.
Continue with the ergonomic theme
Ergonomic office equipment shouldn’t just be restricted to seating. It’s possible to get gear such as mice, keyboards and even computers and screens which make doing your job more comfortable and easier on your eyes and hands. It can also help to prevent the onset of illnesses such as Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI).
Drink plenty of water
The value of being hydrated is immense, especially if you’re in a job that requires you to spend plenty of time talking to colleagues and clients. Drinking water at regular intervals throughout the working day can make a big difference in helping you to speak clearly, as well as helping with your ability to think as clearly as possible. If your employer doesn’t already provide it, bottleless water coolers for offices are a great and scalable way to provide an office with filtered, cold, great-tasting water.
Block out excess noise
Sometimes, in a busy office, it can be all too easy to get distracted. One of the most common distractions is background noise, which for some workers (particularly those on the autistic spectrum) can be a massive problem. Finding a quiet spot to work may help, but if that’s not possible, then wearing a pair of noise-blocking headphones may be the answer.
